On strategic thinking

So people say TV and gaming has ruined our attention span and stunted our imagination. If the news reports are to e believed then violence and sex in media has turned us into a generation of degenerates and morons.

Well there's evidence to support that but I'd say we've gained at least one interesting skill from modern TV and gaming.

RPG's and programming such as Dexter has taught us to spot complex motives and hidden agenda's in those around us. We've learnt to apply strategic thinking as a part of our day to day existence which I find to be a delightfully delicious thought.

We're fascinated by solving mysteries or unravelling deeply interlaced story lines which is evident when we look at the most popular movies, authors and to a lesser extent games. I know my greatest thrill in a cinema is working out who done it before it's revealed and playing games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic or Heavy Rain has helped me to sharpen those skills.

Anyone else out there feel the same way?
