Interactive campaigns

Potentially expensive and prone to vandalism, but innovative none the less. I came across this image whilst playing around with Stumbleupon. It shone like a laser beam. I love interactive advertising.

I must have played around with the interactive panel in the Carphone Warehouse window dozens of times. Although i have no intention of purchasing the model on display (i have no time for anything that is not an iPhone or Android variant) but i gravitate towards it like a moth to a flame. Likewise does anyone else i am with. We're all children at heart when it comes to things like this. Something that moves and reacts is infinitely more attractive than a static image. Here's a video of the Tocco display in action

Outdoor advertising doesn't have to be stale. I was extremely interested in the concept of Bluetooth pushes directly to devices from a fixed outdoor promotion. A combination of the above techniques makes for a powerful marketing vehicle. It's costly to implement but it's an excellent way to get into the mental workspace of the consumer. After all, it got into mine.

It's unwise to base an entire campaign around this, but major brands could and should use these methods to enhance their in-store product marketing.
