The Old Republic

Star Wars: The Old Republic | Trailers

The Trooper progression is looking slick. But it just doesn't hold the same appeal as the Bounty Hunter:

Everyone want's to be a Jedi but the cool kids love Boba Fett. He really comes to live in the books; if you've not read the Legacy series of Star Wars books then you're missing out (although it's worth reading the New Jedi Order series first and not just because they're extremely engaging)

No other game has had the same effect on me that we've witnessed with Star Wars: The Old Republic. I've spent nearly a year agonising over my class choice and 2 years watching and reading every scrap of media published through official channels and gaming sites.

EA Games and Bioware has executed a master stroke of demand generation with the only negative points coming from the refusal to announce a release date. But even then us fanboys just end up wanting it more.

There is a host of content expanding upon the storyline in novels and digital media which is a smart move from a purely business perspective and it keeps us happy. I'm a massive Star Wars fan, a big gamer, a Bioware fanboy and an RPG nut. If anyone is the model core target user then I could count myself quite high up on the list.

Dream job would be working on this game in some way, either through marketing or beta testing. Why? Because it's something I truly love. I think we all have the dream project, product or company we'd drop everything to be a part of. Right now my current job has the majority of the elements that would qualify.

That makes me an extremely lucky man.

But I digress. Buy this game. If you like proper storytelling and massive replayability then this is the title for you.
